In the context of recent developments in the field of looted art and a major conference in Berlin in November 2018, “Het Nieuw Israëlitisch Weekblad” is publishing a major article on restitution of Nazi looted art. The case of the Adelsberger family is highlighted. Visser comments on the restitution policy in the Netherlands; in light of the Washington Principles, an international guideline for restitution of looted art. “Compared to other countries, such as Austria or France, for example, the Netherlands has fallen behind and the procedure of the restitution committee and its judgement are becoming opaque.”
